Youth in grades 4-12 assist the priest during Mass, including the processions before and after Mass, helping with offertory gifts, and other tasks that aid the celebrant and enhance the liturgy.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) provides a sacred space, called an Atrium, for the faith formation of children from ages 3 to 12 (6th grade). The focus of the program is to deepen the child's existing relationship with God; to encourage the formation of a personal prayer life; to participate fully in the liturgical and sacramental life of the Catholic Church; and to develop a deeper understanding of Catholic identity and tradition. CGS utilizes the educational principles of Maria Montessori.
CGS is based on the belief that God and the child are already in a relationship and provides a place where that relationship can grow through the assistance of trained catechists. Specially designed materials and inspiring presentations help children explore areas of faith formation appropriate to their developmental age.
This ministry is for the very young members of our community. Children range in age from about three to ten. The children are presented materials about the readings of the day through activities, songs, and instruction. They meet on Sunday mornings during the 10:00 Mass throughout the school year.
This special Holy Hour is geared toward families! Held on the first Thursday of each month, families meet in the Gathering Space (6:15 pm) and process into church with the presider. Families are invited to gather in front of the altar for prayer, song, and activities which vary throughout the liturgical season.
