Fr. Travis Kahle is happy to serve as parochial vicar for our tri-parish community, Firelands Catholic. Fr. Kahle completed seminary studies in the spring of 2025 at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and School of Theology in Cincinnati and was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Thomas on May 24, 2025.
Fr. Kahle grew up in the small village of Pandora, and St. Mary’s in Bluffton was his home parish. Before seminary, he earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Joseph College in Indiana and a master’s degree in health care mission leadership from Loyola University in Chicago. Before seminary, he worked in a music store, health care billing, youth ministry, and interned as a hospital chaplain.
One of his favorite topics to discuss is St. Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. Also, though he may be a bit rusty now, he enjoys playing guitar.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve your parish and be assured of my prayers for this community. Let us look to the Blessed Virgin Mary to guide our journey together towards our Lord Jesus Christ. ~ Fr. Travis Kahle
