Fr. Valerian Larawa, affectionately known by many parishioners as Fr. V, was born and raised in Tanzania, East Africa, where he completed his education. He was ordained to the priesthood on July 2, 2020, in the Diocese of Moshi, Tanzania. Following his ordination, he served for three years as a Parochial Vicar in three different parishes within the Diocese of Moshi.
On September 1, 2023, Fr. V was sent to the Diocese of Toledo and assigned as Parochial Vicar for the tri-Parish community of St. Anthony of Padua, Milan; St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer, Norwalk; and St. Paul the Apostle, Norwalk.
Fr. V. He is the tenth of eleven children, blessed with seven brothers, three sisters, and more than 30 nephews and nieces. He is grateful to serve in such a loving and faith-filled community. Deeply devoted to his vocation, he treasures the opportunity to share in the life of faith with parishioners. His greatest joy as a priest is bringing the love and joy of Christ to others— sometimes even through the simple gift of a smile. Outside of his ministry, Fr. V enjoys bike riding, watching sports (especially soccer), listening to country and classical music, and spending time with friends.
